What benefit does a fish gets from a light in for a Fresh Water aquarium.?
I have a 90 gallon fresh water aquarium with cichlids fish including a red devil. They are about 3 inches in size. I have it for two months and I am considering putting a light on top of it, I just want to know what it will do to my fish.
for the fish not much benefit, for tanks with plants in the a HUGE benefit as the light helps the pants to grow and flourish. only leave the light on for 12 hours a day otherwise you will have a problem with algae. for goldfish watch the temp in the summer months as it may become too warm, if tropicals in the winter it will probably raise the temp by a few degs which is not a bad thing. in the summer if your tank becomes too hot just turn the light off, a combination of good plant food and good light will make your tank plants really stunning and gives the fish all of the vitiams they need.
