Changing aquarium bulbs?
I have 2 24 inch hoods on my 55 Gallon Tank i want live plants but my light is too small its a 17 watt perfecto hood with natural daylight bulbs from eclipse. My question is will getting better bulbs help the light? or do i need a new light all together
yes you need a all new light http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/product_info.php?products_id=1423&osCsid=242ee24ab07e1a7246e11dc4911c1949 i found this light here they got different ones also. you can get them over sized watts and make sure they got seperate on and off switches so you can get the right amount of light and not use the other one i didnt do it and bought 2×54 watt light about 3 monthes later ended up upgradeing plants and had to get a 3×54 watt light for the same price if i know that i would have gotten the 3×54 light then ran the two lights they have more lights that would work for you just look around this is one of the cheaper places i found lights at
