Computer Memory Loss Problem?
I just recieved a new Toshiba laptop for Christmas. It is running on Windows Vista Home Premium. It has a total memory of about 296 GB, since Christmas the memory has slowely been declining at unusually fast levels. Yet the only hardware I installed on Christmas eve was Sims 2 and some expansion packs equaling about 7 gbs. I checked memory loss and it all equated to about 60 GB, about 30 GB is memory that I can account for and know where it came from/ where it is. So far I’ve ran Nortan Antivirus 260 about 2 times and it found nothing except for a few non-serious tracking cookies and I also tried to de-frag the computer, which didn’t help much since it’s so new there’s hardly no unorganized files. I’ve also done a “disk check” which found absolutely nothing. Day to day I lose about 5 GB out of NO WHERE. It is getting super annoying, there is now about 30 GB of perfectly good memory that cannot be accounted.

Go to Computer and right click your main drive to select “Properties.”
Run the Disk Cleanup for all users. Vista collects a surprisingly large amount of temporary files very quickly, so you might want to clear your Recycle Bin and the Temp Files once in a while – this is especially true as you’re installing new programs.
DO NOT DELETE THE HIBERNATION FILE CLEANER. IF YOU DELETE IT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE HIBERNATION MODE FOR YOUR COMPUTER.
