Marineland Bio-Filter Balls to replace biofilter?
I had to throw out my Biofilter from my 30 Gallon Tank after it had sit in storage for about a year. I know your not supposed to but it was disgusting and I didn’t want to put that back into my tank. I was searching online for a replacement and came upon these Marineland Bio-Filter Balls. Has anyone used these before and are they a good, safe replacement? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
you are looking for a medium that has the highest surface area. that is what is most important as well as not leaching anything into the tank. if you have great water flow you may want to consider a product called bio matrix. it has far more surface area than any of the other mediums out there. good luck
