Planted Aquarium Help!!?
I have a 46 gallon Bowfront and have a 36 inch light strip and the bulb says. F30T8 36 inch Eclipse Natural Daylight.I want to grow some Java Fern, Java Moss, Water Wysteria, and Xmas moss. The LFS guy said I need to buy a double t5 light fixture to grow them. I thought I was buying low light plants. Whats the difference between T8 and T5?
not one of those plants requires special bulbs, he/she was just trying to get you to spend more money … and the eclipse tanks have good lighting already … all of my tanks are low light, two of which are eclipse tanks … the lighting in those tanks (with the bulbs that came with the tank) is sufficient to grow everything you have mentioned, and there are even more low light plants that do not require special bulbs or co2 … there is not much difference between T5 and T8, think of it like windows vista to windows 7, not much difference :O)
