Customizing LED Lights
Most people know by now how easy it is to replace existing lamps with LED lights, and that doing so will quickly pay for itself in electricity savings. But did you know how easy it is to customize any light from a single bulb to an entire track Lighting System? The Sitia PAR-16 is just one example of an Led Light bulb that can function however you want it to. Containing a Cree MCE multi-chip LED, it is a sweet 5.5 Watt replacement for a 45 Watt halogen. Plus, it’s dimmable! The Sitia is available in Warm White or Cool White, and with beam spreads ranging from 15° to 88°. Add on the fact that LED Waves can slap on whatever bulb base you need for your socket type (PAR-16, E26, E27, GU10, E11, E17 or B22), and the possibilities are endless.
The Agios Nikolaos PAR-16 offers one of the neatest custom LED light bulb options available at LED Waves. It is a 6 Watt replacement for a 50 Watt halogen, and as is the case with the Sitia Par-16, you choose the color temperature, beam spread, and bulb base. The Agios Nikolaos is also dimmable and it boasts an extra-long lifespan of up to 80,000 hours. Most impressive of all, however, is that you can choose which brand of LEDs you want in this bulb:Nichia or Cree. For projects requiring powerful but discrete strip lighting, the Amazon Waterproof Strip Light is a fantastic DIY option. As its name suggests, it is suitable for indoor or outdoor use, and its rubbery flexible casing makes it easy to attach to the contours of any surface. The Amazon has a wide beam angle of 120°, making it ideal for counters, display tables, cabinets, and any other space that requires bright light with low heat output. It comes in 19.5″ strips but you can snip off units of 2″ (3 LEDs) at a time according to whatever length you need.
